burble

I’ve been working up in the Bothell/Woodinville area recently, so there has been much less opportunity for weblog activities. I hopefully will eventually write about, say, Lainie’s entire trip out here to Seattle and our recent dinner with Eve, Karl, and Randy. And actually Halloween with Eve and Karl. On the positive side, I know a lot more about the north and east suburbs now, as well as traffic patterns around Lake Washington. Little piglet is very sad, though, but now we can buy gobs of treats for our little one, although I would never buy her love with food (insert Amanda protestations here).

it’s alive (again)

Amanda’s notebook computer ate another memory stick. I am backing up her stuff off it right now (since she does not back up her stuff like I told her to a while ago and she said she did not want automatic backups).
I am not sure it is worth messing around with it as it has been apparent that it has overheating problems (not helped by Amanda’s habit of using it on her lap or resting on the sofa). Every replaceable thing on it has been replaced or is currently not working. I should have tried to pick up another cheap one on some Black Friday sale today.
Now Amanda wants to use the computer after previously saying that she does not need a computer at all and we don’t need to get another one, but I am writing this entry on it.
Amanda wanted me to call this entry “amanda ignores the expert as usual (or how i mercilessly bash my spouse)” but there is minimal bashing here.

On the online network I play Halo on, one can submit ratings and feedback on people you interact with. Your ratings influence whether or not you will be matched online with a particular person for any future games. And possibly get someone kicked off if they are continuously harassing people verbally or the like. I almost never use my mic, as I rarely play team games, so I have a completely pixelated relationship with everyone else on the network.
Apparently, 25% of people do not want to play with me anymore, and all of those people say I am too “aggressive”.
Somehow I fail to see how I can be too “aggressive” playing an online game where the purpose is to kill everyone else.
