Amanda and I will be doing the Beat the Bridge run this weekend. It’s an 8k run in the University District where you try to run to the University Bridge (a drawbridge) before they raise it and you get taunted for your weakness. I think a band was there last year to do the taunting. Alright, they probably don’t taunt you, because it is all a fundraiser for aiding juvenile diabetes, so it is all in good fun. Although Heather said that they give out McDonald’s coupons, among other things, to those who don’t get to the bridge in time, which seems antithetical to the race objectives.
