I found out why traffic was so bad this morning. A sinkhole had opened up beneath the University Bridge, so the authorities closed it to verify that it is structurally sound. Unfortunately, there are only so many bridges across the ship canal, so traffic flat out sucked. All freakin’ day. I picked up Amanda from the U-District before heading to the cat clinic to retrieve Haley. It must have taken a couple of hours to get back home in addition to the definite hour it took for me to pick up Amanda. Did I really spend five hours in the car today?
I picked up some take out Chinese food from Jumbo Restaurant down the street. The “Boss Lounge” inside was hopping, but no one was eating in the large (it has a dance floor) dining room. Amanda and I had eaten there earlier this year. The food is acceptable and very cheap (at least for Seattle).
