worm update

It is very obvious that we generate a lot more compostable waste than our current amount of worms can handle. Of course, we only started with ~200, so one cannot expect miracles. At full tilt, 1000 worms can go through 0.5 pound of material a day, so I suppose if we really get into vermiculture, we will definitely have to get a bigger setup. They seem happy, so hopefully they will multiply quickly. The bin is currently sitting in my office and fortunately does not smell much at all normally… it smells like compost if I open it up.
It’s too bad we can’t set up a compost pile. I guess we could, but the neighbors may not like it, and I suppose it is Not Permitted in our title documents.
