A few days ago, Amanda became obsessed with the fact that our old showerhead was rated at the same flow rate as our water saving showhead at 2.5 gpm. I said that was max for the water saving one and it was actually lower, but she was dubious. So the other day I physically measured the flow rate of both shower heads.
Original: 40 cups / minute
New: 19 cups / minute
I win!
Of course, the old showhead is currently attached to the pipes, but I will change it back eventually. Maybe. Amanda says I should just suck it up and take shorter showers, so that she can enjoy the luxurious old showerhead. Since I am unwilling to take shorter showers in addition to using the water saving showerhead, clearly I am not truly interested in “saving” water says she.
