It’s is snowing yet again. Crazy. Amanda’s normal 9E bus vanished before her stop; I guess the bus tracking db was lying or the bus was abducted by aliens. I think she just took the next available 7 and will just be very late to clinic. Her patients probably will be late as well.
The weekend was rather low key. Amanda was on call Saturday. I got caught up on house stuff. We had bfast Sunday at Silver Fork when she got home, which is right by us. We had never been there before because it has mysterious hours. It is a nice independently owned diner-type place. Not vegetarian at all, but we expected that, but bfast can be rather safe (ignoring the fact that everything is cooked on the same grill). Bfast was good; Amanda got grits… one of the few places that serves them in Seattle… along with eggs and toast. I got a cheese omellete, hash browns, and a small stack of pancakes. Looking over the menu, it appears healthy eating is not really on their agenda. I am sure it is tasty if yer into a lot of meat and cholesterol.
Amanda had Monday off, but she went into UW in the morning to deliver a baby. I worked. Afterwards, she met up with Eve to talk and knit and later went grocery shopping with Mandy.
Amanda got a weird thing on her chin that we morbidly thought was “nec fasc” (necrotizing fasciitis … “flesh-eating bacteria”). That would not be good. She stopped by the ER in Valley and they said “come back if it starts hurting more or you get a fever”. Now, though, it looks just like a bruise, but it is unclear where it came from.
I made potato leek soup for dinner. We had bread and beer, which is kinda like bread. A very carb heavy meal. I had port later. Amanda had a piece of brownie cake I got her at Safeway. Another day(s) in the life.
