It has gotten pretty nippy here… 35 right now and it will probably dip below freezing tonight. I wonder if the spinach and lettuce in the garden will be able to handle the frost.
I talked with our neighbor Heather for a while in the P-Patch. I had not seen her in a while. Now that it is colder and wetter outside we don’t see the neighbors much anymore.
I was fooled today by the bright sunlight, but it was pretty cold and damp inside. I turned the fireplace on for a while for the little piglet, but it is not as efficient as the fake wood stove we used to have in Brooktondale.
I also checked out the wall heater in the office… the things spit out quite a bit of heat. I need to check the rest of the thermostats to make sure that they work. Unfortunately, I do not think they can be turned completely off (without manually capping the wires), which is bad for the second floor as we have furniture in front of the heating grate. The grate in my office is a fire hazard as well.
In between contract stuff and looking for more work stuff, I have also been re-ripping our CD collection. I had done so before, but that hard drive died a grisly death. It would be nice to have electronic lossless backups of them again. I am also encoding them in a different way so we can play music wirelessly upstairs through the XBox.
My mom reminded me that I have not uploaded any pictures to our gallery since, oh, last year. I have been thinking about it. I have actually done a bunch of random crap with the gallery (mainly in hopes of speeding it up), but nothing anyone would really see as it is still pretty slow.
