today

Much stuff has happened since the last weblog entry. Today, though, I spent five hours treating the outside fencing with a water/UV protectant. I did not actually finish, so more slopping on of chemicals will be in my future. I had researched various options, but the ones I wanted to do were not recommended for new wood (presumably for drying and curing purposes), so I just choose an inexpensive option to keep the wood from rotting and minimize color change… thus buying me time to think about what, if anytime, I really want to do with it. Our nieghbors will probably do the same.
Our other neighbors in the quad on 36th Ave did their fences a few weeks ago. They went whole hog and cleaned and sanded the wood down before applying a protectant. I did not bother, because, ya know, it’s a simple fence. I just don’t want it rotting or turning grey quickly; I don’t care about chips or splinters or whatever. Their side does look nice.
See, even though one buys a newly constructed home, there is still gobs of stuff that needs to be done.
I noticed the past few days that something or more likely someone has been harvesting our lettuce in our P-Patch. Not whole heads, but a few leaves here and there. The villians… it is not like I have abandoned our garden.
My project is winding down, but there is much stuff to do still. Amanda is still working in the peds ER; she is working 8pm-7am tonight and is napping right now.
Recap of Ms. Lainie’s visit to be done later.
