My desktop computer just went freakin belly up. Damn. I hope that the hard drive is just scrambled and not dead. It isn’t making any funny noises at least. Fortunately, “important” stuff is backed up, but there is a bunch of other stuff that would be a pain to get again or simply annoying to lose.
Something seriously bad must have happened during my defrag last night. I would have thought defrag read/write transactions would be pretty safe.
I am currently trying to extract more stuff off the drive. I will try to rebuild it without wiping everything, but I am not hopeful that will be possible since the volume directory structure is mucked.
This is putting a serious crimp/delay in my abilty to make money.
