Life is life. Amanda is doing sports medicine right now, so she has gobs of free time. She might be under 40 hours a week during this rotation. Although maybe not since she has a lot of stuff to catch up on. She will be going on vacation and travelling back east in a week.
We managed to do our taxes, but I have not sent them off yet. I did not want to spring the money for TurboTax, so we did them by hand for the first time in a long long time. We did not have to pay as much as I thought (I sold a lot of work stock last year to pay for our new car and did not prepay the imputed income or capital gains), but it is still a bit of money. We also are getting money back from New York, but not as much as I think we should. You might think it would be simply a matter of straight income ratios, but NYS manages to skew things in their favor by how they calculate things.
I went to the doctor last week for my right foot/toes that I screwed up/sprained at the beginning of last December. It is still uncomfortable enough that I can”t really run (which has casued me to plump up a bit) and is just annoying all the time. He did not think anything had broken, but took pictures anyway to check for bone/joint issues. There were none visible, so he took the more conservative approach by telling me to load up on ibuprofen continuously and just stay off it as muich as possible since “sending you to lay on a beach for a few weeks probably is not feasible”.
Hard to say if things are better. Its probably just a matter of a lot more time. Maybe I just need a boot or splint; I suppose that would be the next step. I have taken to wearing my hiking boots all the time for support purposes.
I really should work on our vacation recaps. Might be possible now that the taxes are done. Or simply getting back to writing in the weblog more.
