I wonder how long it will take me to forget upstate New York. Forget things like all the houses along 89, the names of all the rest areas along the thruway, my old bicycle route to work, what Toronto looks like when driving from Buffalo, or what Ithaca looks like when driving into it from 13.
I did eventually forget what Virginia Beach looked like. I am not sure exactly when that happened. The last time I was there I only found my way around because I sorta remembered how the roads connected together; I did not really recognize anything. Virginia Beach changed a lot, though (e. g. a lot of roads were three times wider). Ithaca probably will change much much slower.
I was also a kid then; I remember everything being much bigger and farther away from each other :) :) :).
