Amanda and I tried to get some hiking done today. There are many many hikes I wanted to do before leaving, but since we really only have three weekends left, most of them are not going to happen. We tried to go to Treman State Park, but the trails were still closed; I presume there is still damage and whatnot from the winter. Instead we went to Taughannock and walkted about… not really hiking, but I did want to see the falls again.
I am still coughing up a storm, so I cannot really do any serious hiking anyway.
We had a cookout for dinner. We also worked on finishing off the wine we have lying about.
We can been letting out neighbor’s dog Tessie in and out of his house as he (the neighbor) is out of town for a few days. Tessie looked very sad a lonely. She seems quite old and arthritic, but is friendly. Apparently she is allowed one aspirin a day and prefers it “wrapped in bacon or cheese”.
We watched a few Young Ones episodes tonight. Amanda does not want to be bring these videos (or any videos) to Seattle as she does not want to move them or the tape player. We do not watch our tapes very much anymore, and it will be a bit expensive to replace the ones on dvd, but perhaps that will be a longer term financial hit as we can replace them “eventually”.
Now Amanda is dozing on the couch, and I am trying to get some work done. I have not been getting much sleep as my coughing gets much worse at night and keeps me up. Amanda has various theories, but there is not much that can be done.
I have still been idly looking at Seattle apartments and properties even though we already have a place. I just want to get more of a feel for the city and area for future reference (e.g. when someone tells me they live in Ballard I hopefully will know what that means).
I noticed that our new apartment is on the borders of a few neighborhoods; we are on the borders of Capital Hill, the Central District, and Madison Valley. Of course, not that that means anything in real life (as its not like walls separate these areas), but it is interesting nonetheless.
Amanda has berated me for not posting any pictures to our gallery. I’d like to say that I am working on it, but you know, it ain’t happening. There are many to post, too. That might have to wait until after our move.
