Lainie came down from Buffalo for a visit last weekend. All of us basically caught up on our sleep. The weekend was gorgeous here, so when we weren’t sleeping we were just hanging out outside and whatnot.
Now they are both back in Buffalo. Amanda has a few more ER shifts (plus one exam) and that is it for her MD degree. That four year went by fast in some ways.
I recently bought an external hard drive to back up all the stuff I had on my work notebook as the computer is, like, not mine. I also am ripping all of our audio CDs (uncompressed) to it as it will be more convenient to have them in electronic form, especially since I also got Amanda an iPod mini… a delayed hoilday present as it would not have been as useful in SF or India. Still have to write some stuff up to ease the transfer of files to it (rather that use Apple’s default stuff), but hopefully that will be done shortly.
The iPod itself is nice, if overpriced/overhyped. I do like its interface though, and that is mainly what sets it apart from the competitors. Along with that vague Apple superiority/coolness factor that they cultivate.
