Saturday Amanda took her USMLE Step 2 medical boards. She took it in Syracuse, and since she was feeling too tired and shakey in the morning, I drove her up. I ended up just driving back because I was tired and there was like nothing to do in Syracuse.
I did manage to sleep and work a bit before heading back to pick her up (it was an all day test). Unfortunately, I got caught in a massive traffic jam on 81 where a semi had blown through a “guide” rail (not “guard” rail because that implies liability) and fell down a slope. I think the driver was OK, although they had to cut him out of the cab. So, I ended up spending five+ hours driving.
Amanda was happy the test was over. Now she has nothing to do other that think about moving to Seattle (and some ER rotations).
Susan has been visiting here for the past couple of days, but she is probably heading back to Philadelphia even as I write this. We had dinner at Olivia, a new (to me anyway) restaurant where the old Coyote Loco was next to East Hill Plaza. We have to live it up before we move, because we may not be able to later. The place was nice and certainly worth going to again, although I would say it is bordering on the not-enough-food-for-the-price side. The food was very good, however.
I am dragging myself to the doctor this afternoon as I have had weird abdominal pain that is not going away after a week. Hopefully it is not a gall bladder or liver issue (as that is what is in the area) and just some passing hiccup. I was going to wait a few more days, but Amanda insisted I make an appointment, as I allegedly did not look too good this morning. After all, I have insurance at the moment which many people do not have, so I might as well use it.
