i went up to buffalo yesterday (it being my birthday and all) after work. amanda, lainie, erika, and lainie’s yahoo personals friend (whose name i am totally forgetting) had dinner at toro. it had been lainie’s friend’s birthday the day before, so we celebrated that as well. toro had revamped the menu since i had been there last… unfortunately, they got rid of the truffle shoestring potatoes! amanda also found out that an enchilada dish that she thought was safe had chicken stock in the sauce. regardless, the food was good and company fun. amanda called me a “tunatarian” tho, which was a bit harsh.
erika was tired and went home, but the rest of us went back to lainie’s apartment and had an italian creme cake that amada had made with wine from niagara-on-the-lake ( reif estates). it was quite tasty.
i got various gifts during the evening: swiss army pocket watch, cool tshirt, and cashews. amanda had also previously given me a bouquet of flowers, the cake, and donated bees and ducks in my name to some lucky, but currently unknown individuals.
i brought up various ikea furniture that lainie might find useful (our wine rack and two coffee tables). before returning to ithaca, i also went by the old apartment and retrieved our compost bin, shovel, and pitchfork. they are stinking up my car right now, so i am going to go back home to unload the car now and check up on the lonely piglet.
