life has been calmer recently, but of course we reworked our work schedule and i have become instantaneously two weeks behind schedule. i hate that. anways, the recap:
thursday: hmm, i got back to buffalo kinda late. amanda was absorbed in reading some fictional book about residency when i got back.
friday: work and all. amanda had her last day at hospice. we took carlos to pick up with truck from an auto place. ucsf called up and said that she could have an externship there the month of january and will give her an interview then. that was nice. now we have to find a place to live there for a month. maybe i will be able to work in san francisco then as well. amanda got out early and spent the afternoon looking for places to live in seattle (where she will also be for a month). living and transportation arrangements will be problematic, but not insurmountable. we decided to celebrate by going out to toro. lainie had a date with a guy she met at 8 minute dating; amanda tried to convince her to go out with us, but it was more courteous to not bail out on the date at such a late time. lainie had to go pick up a friend visiting later anyway.
dinner at toro was very nice. we sat at their only two person table which is surrounded by their wine racks. for some reason, it’s also the only one they put a tablecloth on. amanda passed out immediately after getting back home at 9pm, so i puttering around for a couple of hours before going to bed.
saturday: amanda made bfast… eggs, homefries, fake sausage, and toast. we were going to go for a hike, but the weather was mysterious and instead we researched residency options (amanda mainly). amanda went for a pedicure with lainie and her friend leslie, but i stayed home for some exercise, but later met them for dinner at carraba’s. dinner was nice. the place has been outrageously crowded the two times i had been there for not really understandable reasons (tho for buffalo its a good enough place). its better than ,a href=”http://www.olivegarden.com/”>olive garden, but not as vegetarian friendly.
sunday: i made bfast today… eggs, homefries, fake sausage, and toast. i did not have any eggs because we only had one left. we got our lifting and running in early in the morning as amanda has made a new commitment for working out and i am altering my exercise schedule to mesh with hers more (as for various reasons we have differing preferences on workout times and lengths and whatnot). we considered hiking again, but it got rainy so we considered residencies and whatnot and caught up on administrative tasks.
laine called up later because she had bought a 4×4 foot still life and could not fit it in her car, so we met her at the galleria to transport it back to her apartment. amanda darted into the mall to look fora sports bra but was denied; i ordered her a couple online instead. we considered going to to dinner again with lainie and leslie, but we decided to pass since we also decided to stop eating out so much. this has always been problematic before because eating out is a bit social activity for us (as opposed to us being simply lazy and decadent), but we shall see how it goes. i ended up making spicy green beans with mushrooms instead. yummy.
monday: work, etc. amanda just came home, so we will exercise shortly. apparently, her new internal medicine rotation looks like it will be fine, but she will not have any days off as she anticipated for finishing her root canal (among other things i imagine like simply not working).
