saturday morning

amanda wishes me to report that my plant that i have had for 12+ years and was formerly at work is not actually dead. she is amusing herself by rereading my weblog entries. i removed the plant from the poisonous atmosphere at work and brought it to buffalo. there were perhaps less than ten bare stalks left that were practically dead, but now they have spouted new leaves. perhaps if the sun actually came out (i read in the paper that 70% of the days in july were overcast here in buffalo), it would be doing even better.
amanda got up early this morning since she slept most of the hours from when she got back from work on friday. i got up at 930, which i will not feel guilty about in spite of amanda’s impatience. the weather today is outragously raining and nasty, so we went out for a quick bfast at the lake effect diner. sergio was our waiter; amanda and i could not place his accent. of course, that last time we were there we could not place it either.
since it was a rainy day, we decided to be lame and just went to the boulevard mall to walk around. amanda had ideas about getting some cheap stuff from new york and co., but apparently the saleperson there was evil, so she left without giving them any of her love. she later did get a 50% off shirt from aeropostale in spite of the fact that she is way over their target customer age. she later said that earlier in life she believed quantity of clothing was better than quality, but now believes otherwise; it is better to have fewer quality things. i agree… perhaps most people who know me realize that i tend to wear the things i like constantly (heh, but whether or not they are “quality” is perhaps subject to interpretation).
we dropped by petsmart to get piglet more low-cal kitty treats. there was a very sad and formerly abused kitty there whom amanda wished to adopt, but perhaps she and piglet would not get along. however, she was still young, so she will probably get taken by someone.
now, we are back at home. perhaps dinner-and-a-movie is in our futures tonight.
