well, i still am considering recaps of the past few weeks. they should be easier since i probably will not recall much of what happened. i have been thinking pretty continuously about work, so unfortunately i have not had much brainpower for other things. witness the fact that i will give an aborted recap of the past weekend.
thursday: lainie came over after i returned to buffalo, and we helped her update/create her cv for future employment possibilities.
friday: work. that evening, lainie, amanda, and i went out to see supersize me at a theatre near us on hertel. it is about a guy who subsists on nothing but mcdonald’s food for a whole month. it was pretty entertaining, if a bit over-the-top. amanda and i had a light dinner of sushi at the o restaurant after the movie; lainie went back home to sleep since she was on call all day on saturday.
saturday: we had dinner at el canelos. while i am not especially fond of mexican-type food, el canelos is such a good deal (quality+quantity of food per dollar) it is hard to resist. the service is excellent as well. they finally have their liquor license, but buying beer and margaritas would seriously up the bill. amanda was angry that we had to go on a toll road (i190) and pay 50 cents for a mere 20 yards or so to get to the restaurant. later, we plotted a way there that avoided 190.
after dinner we went to the galleria mainly to walk off some of our dinner and allow amanda to possibility use up some gifts card to new york and company. she did manage to pick up some clothing items. we also bought a few things from the body shop.
sunday: other than work, amanda made a delectable meal from our lastest csa bounty. we had salad and shells stufffed with ricotta and mustard greens with a white walnut sauce. amanda has been quite the chef recently. we have been going through cookbook recipes, tho, so we are not putting much in our online cookbook.
hmm, now that i think about it, not only am i behind on my recaps, i still have many pictures to post.
monday: i was up most of the night working, but managed to get a couple hours of sleep. i was really tired this morning, but am now wide awake. maybe my run today after lifting was good for me. i took a break from working and cleaned up the corolla and the kitchen and did a bit of laundry. it is amanda’s first day of inpatient internal medicine; hopefully she will be back home soon.
susan is coming to upstate new york for secret work purposes. i am unsure if she will be here tonight, tho, so i may not see her.
