sunday: i spent a lot of time working. work is like that sometimes. the weather turned out to be quite nice… too bad we could not get the nice weather yesterday during our wine tasting adventures. amanda spent the day downsizing our apartment. carlos was having a birthday bbq, although his 23rd birthday was actually the next day; it did not make sense to have it during a workday. karen got him a propane grill, and he had fun putting it through its paces. karen also made him a duckie birthday cake which was very nice. lainie eventually woke up (as she is working nights this week), and came over to exercise and join the bbq. later she and amanda went for a walk/run to and around delaware park while i went back to working. hoo hah.
monday: i worked, amanda worked, etc. when she got home, she reported that the brakes in the corolla were practically dead. we had an inkling of problems since the brake light had been going off intermittently during out wine tasting adventure on saturday, and i knew they were up to be replaced. i had been hoping to wait another month until the car was up for inspection just to combine all the car maintenance trips. regardless, we took it to pep boys down on niagara falls blvd. and had them check out the brakes and mount our summer tires. i decided to just stay in buffalo another day until the car was fixed. as it turned out, the brakes pads were pretty worn down and would have to be replaced really soon now, but the real problem was in brake fluid lines. we had them fix that and replace all the pads since that would probably have to be done shortly anyway.
tuesday: amanda and i worked (surprising, eh?). not much exciting happened. i still have a lot of work to do, but that’s how it goes. we picked up the car, and it stops on a dime now. as the previous post stated, one of our ceiling fans died. the rats are trying to penetrate the compost bin, but they are unsuccessful thus far. time for some more work and research.
