natalie was fearful of possible deleterious effects from the plethora of snails in the catfish tank. i used my usual technique of putting a worm cube in the tank and waiting a bit until it became a seething mass of gluttonous snails. i then scooped them up and deposited them into the goldfish tank.
the goldfish were very appreciative of the snails, but natalie was horrified at the ensuing feast. we briefly thought some might be able to escape the ever hungry mouths of the fish as they were quite well camouflaged and quite numerous, but the hapless snails had no such luck. in ten minutes there was no evidence they were ever present in the goldfish tank.
i decided to put the next couple of snail-mass batches into the tetra tank. that tank is currently overrun by a different species of snail. we shall see which one will reign supreme.
