1. friday was kinda blah. i was actually on my way to the gym, and did not make the final right hand turn into its parking lot because i was lame (instead i went to the post office). we had dinner with erika that evening after work.
2. saturday was a big wedding day. amanda and i were going to go to greg and helen’s wedding in ithaca, but she did not realize that it started at 1pm and she had to be at the children’s hospital in the morning, so we would have gotten there very very very late (if we would have made it at all before it concluded as it is around 3 hours from buffalo to ithaca).
our landlord jeff was also getting married on saturday; maybe after his hunnymon he will remember to install our dishwasher.
anyways, we ended up having lunch with erika and dave at the solid grounds after amanda got out of work. afterwards, she completely passed out at home for many many hours; she has not been getting much sleep recently.
we went out to romeo and juliet’s late that evening for some wine and snacks with lainie, who needed to take a break from studying for usmle step 3, which she will take monday and tuesday. afterwards, she will be fully licensed (well, i guess she still has to finish another year of residency technically). we got free cake from the owner/manager because of a mixup with the seating.
3. sunday, amanda spend much of the time studying for her surgery block exam that she will take friday, while i kinda did not do a whole lot (at least worth remembering) other than going to wegmans and buying a lot of food. oh, and i bought the matrix reloaded dvd, which i guess amused me that evening. the film is much more watchable when one can fast forward through parts one does not like.
4. monday was more work and studying for amanda and me (tho no studying for myself). amanda got out early, but used the extra time to study. we watched big trouble in little china, which we both found hilarious.
today, i am back in ithaca. work is work, and its future is hazy. but then it always is. i drove through some hellacious rain and thunder and lightening on the way down and through ithaca; we were getting pelted by fat raindrops i normally associate with thunderstorms in the hot humid south. alas, work still had pwer when i arrived.
i am really tired; perhaps its time to go to the apartment and sleep until tomorrow.
