i had eventually gotten around to changing our renters and auto insurance to our new (to the insurance company) address here in buffalo a few months ago, and, lo, and behold, our auto insurance is spiking up $900! ack! this is with my marriage discount, too. buffalo, is clearly not the place to be insuring cars, unlike placid ithaca.
amanda wanted me to say i still lived most of my time in ithaca (which is not really the case). lying is rarely a good policy. they would not believe it anyway, so i am saved the moral dilemma.
i also got the statement for the ambulance ride amanda was coerced into taking a while ago, and it was quite expensive, which i expected. much more expensive than our insurance will cover, so we will still have to pay over $300 (insurance covers around $250). i suppose i could argue, but i lived with my coworker walt arguing with the insruance company for almost 18 months about charges, so perhaps the time is not worth it. hopefully they will cover the rest of the emergency services on a better schedule (which i also expect). ’tis good that i am still employed.
