amanda and i are in banff right now; she’s up in our room reading, and i am idly surfing the web on a $2 cdn/20 minute kiosk at the hostel. the flight up here on westjet was a riot. i will have to wait until i get back to type in the particulars.
the canadian rockies seem the same as when we were here two years ago. we still know our way around banff and the surrounding areas and recognize many many things. it did seem like we were living here before; after all, we spent over four weeks here.
unlike last time, we don’t have our heavy hiking stuff, so we will just be doing day hikes and the like. we did bring our tent and sleeping bags and whatnot so that we could stay at the campgrounds; they are much much cheaper than even the hostel (which isn’t exactly cheap i would say… $35 cdn per person). the campground is probably only $12 cdn per night with maybe another $2 for firewood.
it gets dark around 11pm here… i think the fireworks for canada day are going to start around 11:30 next tuesday.
