amanda will return to our home in buffalo tonight and continue her preparations there. she will take the boards next tuesday. originally, she was going to return to ithaca for a few days afterwards before we went to canada, but her mom will be coming to buffalo next week, so she is just going to pack up tonight.
before her school ended last semester, she thought that our time in ithaca would be like summer camp: we had just moved to a new apartment, the weather would be nice, we would live and idyllic existence and enjoy summer in ithaca. as it turned out, it rained practically every day and we spent most waking hours working. time sure flew by, as it seems like we just finished moving and amanda had just finished her last exam. ah, well.
she will also be taking the piglet back with her as she is worried that our piglet is engaging in risky behaviors around the apartment. she has spent more and more time ranging about outside and sitting at the side of the roads (and most people just fly down them without a care). since we will be away for a couple of weeks, it seems prudent to keep her in buffalo where we also may have a easier time getting people to check up on her.
i am still considering what to do with our plants and fish. however, they are easier to deal with than the piglet one during extended absences.
as a added bonus, tho, i can keep our windows closed now. azafran has been getting much bolder and has been hanging about the apartment and eating piglet’s food. yesterday, he even greeted me when i opened the door! i like him well enough; i just prefer that he remain out of our apartment.
well, perhaps i should try to do a bit of work. i accidently left my notebook computer in the car when amanda dropped me off (usually i drop her off downtown), so i am amusing myself writing in my weblog and reading computer books until she comes by later. we dropped our corolla off at the shop this morning to get inspected and to get an oil change and will pick it up later this afternoon.
