Amanda had the day off today because we originally intended going camping this holiday weekend, but we cancelled those plans because of poor piglet piglet’s health. We had a breakfast of french toast made with leftover Columbia City Bakery baguette (delicious fresh and as french toast), then Amanda took the Kai to school. She stopped at the Rainier Veterinary Hospital to pick up medicines for piglet and Lowes to get painting supplies.
She then proceed to paint Lonan’s room. Lonan had previously picked up a color a long time ago, but we had never gotten around to actually painting it. It is kind of a grayish blue color; Amanda described it as “robin’s egg blue”. Are robin’s eggs blue? I dunno. It is not the color I would have chosen, but he liked it well enough. At least he better like it when the room is finished.
I watched the Bonasaurus and piglet. I did pot the remaining two tomato plants that I obtained from the Seattle Tilth Edible Plant Sale. These two are in containers while the other tens plants I put in the ground a couple of weeks ago. They are both determinants: Glacier and Japanese Black Trifele. I guess I will see how they work out.
Amanda took the Bon to Lonan’s school for lunch while I went for a run at Seward Park. The went surprisingly well considering I had not run in two or so weeks, although now my right knee hurts quite a bit. There was a short rather plump woman there who was also running (wearing a down vest of all things) who completely dusted me, which was even more embarrassing as she was one lap around the park ahead of me already.
I stopped by the Paris Bakery and Deli (or is it Deli and Bakery?) for a few bành mì to take home for lunch… three of the tofu and mushroom variety. Amanda agreed they were very very tasty and better than the ones at Seattle Deli and Saigon Deli in the International District.
Amanda finished painting the Kai’s room. She also painted out little stool that Lonan formally used at the sink to wash his hands.
She took the Bon with her to pick up Lonan and was going to pick up some pizza on the way home, but apparently Bon was having a hard time because of her lack of sleep in the afternoon, so she called me up and had me meet them at St. Dames for dinner.
Dinner was good. I had a couple of alcoholic Cherry Limeades and their Portobello Cheese Stake with fries which is always tasty. It is the one entree that is always on their menu; the rest change every so often. I am not too thrilled with their current entree lineup, but the Portobello Cheese Stake is always good. I joked with Amanda that I wished I had some Sriracha to put on it as I am becoming one of those people who put hot sauce on everything.
The Kai’s bedroom had been painted with low vapor paint, but it still was a little stinky, so Amanda decided to stay at the townhouse with him tonight. I am here with the Bon who hopefully will sleep all night, but we will see how that goes. Who knows what the rest of the evening holds?
End of weblog entry. What to write about now? Ate piglet is sleeping in the cat bed beside me, and Naandi is going crazy around me and trying to torment piglet (which is aggravating me). Now he is stationed underneath the computer monitor giving me angry face. I don’t care.
I guess I should go outside and get the bokboks in the henhouse, but they are still idly pecking about outside.
I still need to do my jumping jacks, burpees, squats, pushups, and situps. I had been sort of doing those the past couple of weeks even though I had not been running. Perhaps that is why running did not hurt as much. They only take about ten minutes, though.
