Kai bday and the past few days

2012 FEB 23 : THURSDAY
Amanda had an evening activity, so the Kai and I went to up UVillage for dinner and to hang out until she was ready to go. We ate at World Wrapps. The Kai was displeased that his kiddie chicken teriyaki wrap did not have a green tortilla as requested. He did not finish the whole wrap, but he did make sure he picked out all the chicken pieces since he is a meat-eater and all. I got a carribean sole wrap, which I had seen the last time we were there and was intrigued with. As it was, it was not all that and I wished I had just gotten a tofu teriyaki wrap.

We then went and looked about the toy store and ran about the play area (well, the Kai did anyway). I like how the play area has overhead heaters that you can turn on when it is cold. Amanda eventually called, and we all went home.

2012 FEB 24 : FRIDAY
After meeting with REI, I headed out to Renton to a party supply place to get things for LK’s birthday party on Saturday. I found the party place to be a little odd; it was divided into themed areas where one could get everything for some type of party (e.g. princess party with themed plates, party favors, etc.). I ended up getting a happy birthday banner (which hopefully I can reuse for years), a couple of bags of candy, a bunch of little baggies for party favors, and lots of party favors themselves. The party favors consisted of stickers, bouncy balls, hedgehog balls, and glow-in-the-dark lizards. I also get twelve helium balloons. I was unsure how many kiddies would be coming, so I hoped I had got enough stuff.

The balloons took up the entire back seat of the car and them some and made it difficult to drive.

After picking up LK and Amanda in the evening, we headed out to the airport to pick up my mom. She was supposed to come in earlier, but her original flight had mechanical problems and was cancelled. She did manage to get alternate flights, though, but came into town a lot later.

After picking up my mom, we had dinner at Red Robin which is a popular Kai choice. Belinda was our waitperson, but I liked how her name tag simply said “BE”.

2012 FEB 25 : SATURDAY
The Kai and everyone one else (Amanda, BK, and my mom) went off to gymnastics while I started cleaning the house. That continued after they returned. Amanda and BK went off to get party supplies (food and the like). Basically, we got ready for the party which started at 3:30pm. In all the cooking, we managed to use up 17 of our eggs and we still have half a dozen left.

The party itself was fun. We finally sacrificed the stegosaurus piñata that we bought for LK’s last bday party but we never used. I was sad, but the kiddies were pleased with its violent end. I was startled at the little girls (AK and AF in particular) who were quite aggressive whacking poor stego. The kids did not have the ooomph to break the piñata open, so after three rounds, the adults started taking turns.

Everyone is asleep now. I still to do some cleaning up.
