My mom left last Sunday. It was good to see her for the last two months; I have not been around her for that long since high school.
Amanda’s mom arrived for a week a few days ago. She is here for a visit and to attend Amanda’s residency graduation.
Amanda’s graduation was interesting. Although it was probably interesting only if you knew the participants. It was on the informal side with a lot of talking as might be expected. We brought LK, but he and his grandmothers left early because it was way past his bedtime.
I have managed to go to the gym and/or exercise for the past couple of weeks. It was predictably painful when I started, but it was interesting in that my upper arms and back were not in that bad of shape; carrying LK around has had its benefits. On the other hand, my chest and legs lost a lot of strength. I shredded my hamstrings after a set of squats and had problems bending my legs for a few days. Cardio-wise, I am still in OK shape, but not great.
I will be watching LK for the month of July. I have been doing a bit of consulting the past few weeks and will continue to do so, but I will mainly be looking for more permanent work this month, although I won’t be able to really do a face-to-face interview until August.
I still have to do our federal taxes, too.
While Amanda did go to her graduation, she still has another month of residency. She has finished all of her calls already, though, so I think she only has to catch up on clinic hours and perhaps finish her R3 project, so perhaps it will be a relatively relaxing final few weeks for her. She then has August off.
I signed up for a Group Health catastrophic health plan. I will be under Amanda’s plan until the end of August. Hopefully I won’t get denied; that would suck. I might have to get a job solely based on health insurance benefits later (hence why I am looking for more permanent jobs as opposed to consulting or contract stuff).
