I got up early to take Susan to the airport on New Year’s Eve. Amanda was tired and did not come with us. Afterwards, I passed out for a long time and did not arise until after one in the afternoon.
I’m a little hazy on what happened in the afternoon. Cleaning, perhaps.
We had dinner at Tutta Bella in Columbia City. Amanda was amazed that the waitperson knew I wanted the red house wine when I simply said “I’ll have the house wine”. I ended up having a weird reaction to the two glasses I had of the house red… I felt them much more than normal and ended up not drinking much for the rest of the evening.
We went over to Eve and Karl’s after dinner. It was fun. Randy, Stacey, James, and Belinda were also there. James and Belinda were with two people I think I had met before, but I know not where or what their names are. Bad, I know, especially as I resolve every year to get better at remembering names.
Someone brought these funky fortunes where you shake a bunch of sticks in a cylinder, choose one, and read the fortune written on it. Most of the fortunes were pretty harsh, though, on the vein of “you will be betrayed by someone close to you” and the like. I don’t remember what mine said, so I am sure it will come true.
I thought Amanda was not going to make it to midnight, but she did, and we got to see the fireworks at the Space Needle malfunction. And see how old Dick Clark has gotten. She eventually tired, and we called it a year.
