It’s been raining quite a bit over the past week. Ordinarily, Seattle only gets like a quarter inch of rain or less in July, usually at night, but I think we’ve gotten much more than that over the past week. Unfortunate for all the festivals last weekend.
Amanda was on call Friday night, so she slept most of the Saturday morning. We had an early dinner at Thien Phat, a new Vietnamese place near us. It was alright, but not really notable. It was cheap though, and they have bánh mì with a soda for $2. I’d come back for that.
We did something before dinner/lunch, but I don’t remember what it was. Damn, I need to take more ginkgo.
Sunday Amanda went off with Tania to help with a week long diabetes camp somewhere west of Olympia. I believe all the camp goers have type 1 diabetes. She will actually only be there half a week; Dave will take the second half. I think they are just there for possible medical emergencies. She is going boating and fishing today. Or perhaps she will just watch the kids fish.
She is in charge of a group of 12-13 year old boys; actually, perhaps some resident counselor is in really charge with her helping. Apparently, they have been talking a lot about whether or not the girls at the camp have “big ones” or “little ones”… kinda quaint and PC really in the Information Age… and are plotting strategy on how to quickly hook up with someone since they only have a week. OK, I used the words “hook up”; I don’t know if they did. Someone should tell them they could get arrested and branded a sexual predator for the rest of their life.
Amanda would say that I now have to say something nice after making that last statement. How about: Amanda is the cutest!
Don’t let piglet hear that; she might get mad.
