It was freezing last night, but it is now 57.0F. Possibly because the it was clear last night and in the morning and now it is overcast.
Amanda has switched to night float for a few weeks, so she was at UW all night, and I picked her up this morning.
We planted the herbs we bought a few days ago. I was right about the side of the house; it is basically fill and clay topped with a cm of decorative bark. We went out and got a bunch of edging bricks and topsoil and made a raised bed. The area will get sun in the summer, but not so much at other times. We will see how it goes.
We were going to go out with Eve and Karl for the 25 for 25 promotion this month (25 restaurants have $25 prix fixe meals), but the menus really weren’t very vegetarian, and Karl is a vegetarian as well. We decided to just have dinner at our house. Eve and Karl basically bought over all the ingredients for a fondue, which was cool. We just melted the cheeses sauce in a normal pot and used forks as we do not have the specialized fondue pot and fork things. I also made the remaining swiss chard from our garden that made it through the winter. It was very tasty.
I just bought a stackable five tray worm bin online. And 2000 more worms. My smaller setup is working fine, but I want it to be able to handle all our vegetable waste. Now I just feed them our tea and coffee and occasionally some other stuff. The new bin can handle 10000-16000 worms if fully operational and process 5-8 pounds of food a day! Muwhaahahahahaha!
I adopted a new time tracking/invoicing system last week. I can now keep track of work time via programmatic assistance by the second. I had not realized how much accurate invoicing would suck up timewise until I started working for myself. Now I have to decided what time unit to round up to. One minute? Six? Fifteen (what I usually do)? Per total time or per task/job? Of course, this kind of stuff is usually written in your contract, but my current work does not specify (cause we are all reasonable people).
Amanda and I joined a gym down near Rainier Beach yesterday. It is on the pretty small side, but the people seem nice. My big concern was that it is owned by an organization who “hope to reveal the Kingdom of God to many more folks, one person, and one pound at a time”, which is not really in my line of thinking, but I don’t think it will show up in their day-to-day operations, and their other goals are quite laudable. I have not actually worked out there… we were going to when we signed up, but Amanda got called to come into work. I have been under the weather again, but I might go today if the actual weather starts sucking and I can’t go for a run outside.
