Amanda wanted to go clothes shopping post-call, so we went out to Factoria (I forget exactly why specifically) in the afternoon. She bought a few tops and some uberhawt boots. I got some non-jeans at a Nordstrom Rack. They are nice, although I dunno who would pay $100 each for them; I paid $25.
We weren’t out all that long, and we did want to get back over Lake Washington before rush hour. As we got into our car, we noticed the ominous black clouds over Seattle. All the crows had also taken flight and were heading south where it looked clearer. “You know something bad is happening when the crows leave your city” said Amanda. Before we even got to Mercer Island, large chunks of hail came pouring down. It was pretty crazy, and the hail made all kinds of noise. Traffic, of course, started inching along, and a mile down I90 people started fishtailing, stalling, getting stuck, etc.. We managed not to get stuck, although the tires on our car are pretty awful in rain or snow. The hail eventually turned to slushy snow as we got back into Seattle.
We got stuck in traffic for quite a while, but it got really nasty hour and hour later. Our neighbor who actually works in Factoria left maybe 15 minutes after we did (according to his fiancee). He could not even get on the on ramp to I90 because of ice and traffic, so he decided to hang out on the Eastside for a while.
Our little yard is completely white. This does not bode well for my worm collecting.
