The last farmer’s market of the year was today. Sad. Where will I get my arugula, spinach, lettuce, peppers, basil and garlic now? OK, so there was no basil or fresh garlic today. Maybe we will start up our old CSA again once Amanda gets back home. Although just getting stuff at Madison Market might be good enough. Or perhaps a weekly trip to Pike Place Market will do the trick. I don’t go downtown very much nowadays.
I am trying yet again to change various eating habits. Currently I am:
– eating oatmeal for bfast
– drastically cutting down soda consumption
– upping green and white tea intake (replacing some of the my black tea drinking)
– regularly taking multivitamins
– regularly taking ginkgo
– eating a lot more produce (fresh preferably or frozen otherwise)
– cutting down on carbs (rice, pasta, and, um potato chips)
Maybe I’ll start taking garlic and fish oil supplements as well. I wonder what Amanda would think of that (“where’s the evidence?????”).
I still have not gotten back into running regularly; that is also on the agenda. I have been doing pushups and situps and have been using our remaining barbells for things, but we need more of them. Unfortunately, we do not really have anyplace in our house to put a bench really, which is too bad because people are always trying to get rid of their unused fitness equipment on craigslist for dirt cheap. I was thinking about getting a bench and freeweights and putting them in our garage, but I will have to do something with our bicycles as there is not a whole lot of room. Of course, if I did that I would have to move the car to exercise, but that would not be so bad.
I finally got the real estate sign in front of our house moved. The builder also repainted a section on the front of our house. A mega bird dropping hit it at the worst time when it was originally painted… before it dried, that is… and left a very large and noticeable smear. They were painting the last two townhouse buildings, so it was easy for them to come over and repaint ours.
It looks a lot better now, but one can still see it. I am surprised that they we able to match the colors as good as they did. They also mysteriously got some paint on our upstairs glass sliding door; I don’t see how they managed to do that and not get paint on the railings. Another thing to put on the TODO list.
I also found a piece of an exhaust cover on the ground which came off a vent waaay up on the side of the house. I will have to acquire a ladder to get it back one. Another TODO item.
I wonder how Amanda’s radio talk is going?
