Amanda got new sheets in the mail from L. L. Bean… purchased with our cashback bonus from Discover. She is Very Very Pleased because now our bedding has been completely replaced with stuff of her choice. She has chafed over the past six years under the rule of my sheets and comforters and pillowcases and futons and whatnot (completely worthy in my estimation) and has slowly plotted for this day. I tried to stem the tide a while ago by using some of Amanda’s sheets as emergency window coverings and drop cloths, but Amanda was relentless. Piece by piece old friends were cast off, and now the last survivors are barely hanging on, waiting for their replacements to finish being washed.
