Not much exciting has been happening. Amanda has been working in the NICU (she was in the medical ICU before). I have been trying to generate money, but I have been delayed a bit by my desktop computer suffering a hard drive failure, my employer leaving for vacation, and our notebook computer also suffering a hard drive crash (due to overheating). Alas, I do not get paid for trying, unlike when I was salaried.
The weather here is getting much better, although there are still periods of gloominess and heavy rain.
Our townhouse is still not ready, and our closing has been pushed back at least two more weeks. During our last driveby, they have made considerable progress on the other ten units, but it is unclear how much still needs to be done on ours. They finally moved the dumpster out of our front yard. I imagine they just have the landscaping and finishing up the loose ends on the inside.
Amanda bought a road bike. It was not in our budget, but neither of us have been spending our budgeted “discretionary” funds and we will eventually get a refund from NYS once they get off their asses. She was annoyed, with good reason, that is was so much harder for her when we bicycled together. Now she has a much lighter and speedier bicycle than I; I have a loaded touring bicycle, not really a speedy road bike. I can still keep ahead of her though.
