Haley was very sad last night. It was a long night of gastric upset for the poor little one. She kept on crying to be let outside to “do her thing” and then coming back and looking unhappy. I was up for quite a long time cleaning up my old work computer systems and packing them up, but eventually I had to go to sleep at around 4am. Amanda did not witness any of this as she was on call. A few hours later I woke up and saw exactly how unhappy piglet was; various feline secretions were everywhere. Yuk! She herself was sleeping by the door, which I supposed was good. I cleaned up quite a bit of her messes, but then had to go to a meeting with a person I might do some contract prototyping.
The meeting itself was cool. We went down to Kent to meet up with a former coworker of his and had lunch at some random place. The purpose of meeting up with his friend was so that they could dual interview me. Everything went alright, although I was not as sharp as I should have been. We talked later about compensation and whatnot and will hook up again after my vacation.
Kent itself was a bit non-inspiring. Maybe it is better away from all of the industry.
Amanda was unconscious (as was the piglet) when I got back home. I finished packing up my work computers while Amanda dozed. When she woke up, I took her to Harborview to finish some work and to give Dave our keys. He is taking care of our piglet while we are gone; we will take care of his cats the week after we get back while he is on vacation. While Amanda was working, I sent off my old computers to my previous employer.
We had dinner with Eve at Blue C Sushi. The dinner itself was fine as always, but notable in that the people in the booth beside us ate an outrageous amount of sushi. Their plates were higher than their heads when stacked on the table! For reference, all of our plates combined did not equal one of their stacks. They were not eating the cheap stuff, either.
Back home we packed and did laundry. Amanda was grumpy about how long everything was taking, but we finished everything up. Packing was a bit of a pain because we needed “nice” clothes at a couple of places we planned to eat at. Otherwise, I would have packed everything in my daypack and not checked anything.
Piglet looked much better and started eating again, fortunately.
