09 SEP 2005 : FRIDAY
Um, work and all. I have been much better about running and lifting recently, though. Amanda wants to run in the Seattle Half-Marathon at the end of November, but I do not know if I want to train that hard for it (or, more acuratelly, train specifically for running that long). I have not run that far “competitively” since high school, although obviously I have hiked that far and more carrying gobs of weight (different thing tho).
Anyways, Friday we worked, and then went to Tango for dinner so that Amanda could get her El Diablo. It was not as artistically impressive as the first time she had it, but still tasty.
10 SEP 2005 : SATURDAY
Um, yes, more work and all. Amanda was on call, but I managed to sleep a lot before getting up and working. We both had been working quite a lot. I did take a break and walked downtown, had lunch at the Baguette Box in Capitol Hill… braised tofu sandwich with white truffle fries, and wandered a bit. I was looking for some bulk dried porcini mushrooms, but I could not find any at or near the market. I did pick up some porcini powder, though.
Did I do anything during the evening other than work? Who can say. Amanda did get to sleep at home instead of the hospital, although she had the usual amount of pages to deal with.
I did make my usual grocery run through Madison Market, Trader Joe’s, and Safeway, though.
11 SEP 2005 : SUNDAY
Amanda was post call. We were considering having her fellow residents over for dinner, but no one got back to her in time, so we canceled that. Instead, Amanda napped and knitted a hat and enjoyed not going to the hospital and doing nothing. I idly worked and cleaned the house.
I made a very tasty mushroom lasagna for dinner. slurp.
I loafed too much over the weekend, so I worked most of the night and early morning.
12 SEP 2005 : MONDAY
Work and all. More lasagna for dinner.
13 SEP 2005 : TUESDAY
Tuesday is still going on. I have been working. Amanda was too tired this morning and scraped and dented the side of the car leaving the garage. It was her last day on Surgery, too. She was not feeling well later, so they let her leave early, so she caught up on her sleep.
We dropped off the car at a body shop that had been recommended to us. I imagine it will be $1000+ to fix, but I think we will just cover it rather than do an insurance claim… not worth the hassle or increased rates since we have a high-ish deductable. They will get back to us with a more exact quote. Hopefully we will get it back before the weekend, although I don’t really drive anywhere.
I am tired. Maybe time for a nap.
