Amanda has been driving to her surgery rotation (rather than bicycling or walking) because she can sometimes get out of the hospital and relax/sleep at home for an hour or so before getting paged back. The hospital for this rotation is very close to us. At her previous hospital I would driver her sometimes, but it is much more ime efficient for her to drive herself. Anyways, yesterday morning, she got herself pulled over morning whilst going to the hospital because she did not have the car lights on! Apparently she “convinced” the officer to let her go (with lots of tears and whining, although perhaps that version of the story was for my amusement during the retelling). Shocking! Although perhaps a doctor going to save lives at 5am qualifies as an emergency situation. On the other hand, should she be performing surgery when she is this tired? Perhaps it’s best not to think about it…
She is back again now… sleeping, though, as one might expect. Time for another work meeting for me…
