Amanda and I had margaritas last night with most of her fellow Family Medicine R1s. Her Harborview compatriot Dave was unfortunately on call. We all met at La Cocina and Cantina on Broadway. Amanda and I had actually been there before last November when we were randomly wandering around looking for a place to eat. The food was OK. It was good to talk with her fellow residents; I had not seen them for over a month when we had went canoeing. Actually, I do not think they see much of each other either necessarily (Dave and Amanda are the exception as they are on the same team).
We passed a large group of apparently homeless men on the way there hanging out by a church. One of them said to us: “Hey, what street is this, um, um, um I mean, do you have any change?” The others laughed at him and said stuff like: “damn, you’re an idiot.”
We also parked (we were lame and drove because we would have been late) in from of an idling Metro bus. The driver came out and asked us a lot of questions about our car. He was very enthusiastic about hybrids. He was quite nice; he actually left the bus to say that our parking job was fine and we weren’t in the illegal bus parking area.
