Amanda has located an apartment for us in the Central District. It is funny, because when we were there in November (we also stayed in the Central District), we passed by it all the time; we always noticed it because it is built on top of a Safeway and Starbucks (although I did not notice the Starbucks). It is new and opened up last December.
It has some ideal characteristics:
01 lots of bus options
02 right between the two main hospitals Amanda will be going to (10 minutes each)
03 it’s on top of a grocery store!
04 seperate den for work area
05 looks gorgeous inside
06 rather nice fitness center (no freeweights but lots of machines)
07 it’s brand new
08 enclosed courtyard outside our apartment where the piglet can run about
09 free classes (e.g. yoga)
10 fake fireplace for the cold piglet
11 in unit washer/dryer
Bad characteristics? Well, I don’t know, since I have not seen it. It is expensive, but not compared to other things Amanda looked at. We did not expect to be able to find a cheap place in 1.5 days anyway… convenience was more of a factor. Of course, perhaps I am just used to Western/Upstate New York prices.
Apparently, I have the highest credit score the management person had ever personally seen. Funny. Amanda’s was almost as high as mine, so perhaps this bodes well when we try to get a mortgage.
Anyways, mission accomplished, and I will pick Amanda up in Syracuse tomorrow. She will have another epic flight back to the east coast.
BTW — The angelfish ate their eggs again. Or maybe they actually hatched. I did not see any fry though.
