Boring medical information

The nurse at the clinic was very amused that I was so happy she did not have to move the “big” counterweight over another notch when checking my weight. The would not have been good. “Your clothes and boots probably are another 15 pounds anyway!” Ah, such flattering white lies.
My visit with Dr. Kuntz was relatively uneventful. He seemed to think that it was more likely that my problems were musculo-skeletal, rather than say gall bladder or liver oriented. Mainly because, although he said that I do not remember being injured, I did not have other symptons of the perhaps more serious issues and twisting either direction caused pain/discomfort. Although the greasy Chinese Buffet connection was mighty suspicious.
However, he said that he could work stuff up (blood or other diagnostics) if I desired, especially since I will be moving and finding another regular physician can take a while. He even offered stronger drugs for the pain. However, since things did not appear to be so bad (or badness was not so imminent), I decided to give things a few more days before getting more procedures done… no need for unnecessary treatment after all. I even declined the drugs, even though I am all for them.
Aside: I always thought it cool that Dr. Kuntz always gives options; I remember reading somewhere that most people do not like making medical decisions and would prefer someone else made them.
As it turned out, I feel much better today (although I felt really bad this morning… but that may have been because I only slept two-and-a-half hours). I don’t think that it was musculo-skeletal (although secondary symptoms certainly are) since other the counter stuff did zip, and it certainly felt like some internal organ was burbling and unhappy. Today, I felt something pop/give way, and all of a sudden I felt much much better. Superlative.
Amanda had various theories:
1. I have a weird appendix location and things were not happy (which does not seem likely).
2. It was merely “gas” (eh, I know was gas pain is like).
3. I have weird intestinal track that was wound around the liver and whatnot and was pressing on unhappy internal organs but eventually worked itself out.
4. Rather than having gallstones, I was having “bilious sludge” which was irritating gallbladder area (which again worked itself out).
Too bad the pain did not last longer than a week, as it would have been interesting if 3 or 4 were the problem through an ultrasound or something.
Anyways, enough medical stuff. Amanda brought our bicycles to a bike shop so that they could overhaul them for us. My bicycle mainly needs the overhaul as it has approximately 10k miles on it and I have not ridden it in a while (mainly because of the maintenance that should be done). She correctly surmised that if we had to wait until I had the time to dork around with them, they would never be ready. So, they will be all happy for us for the weekend, so hopefully we can go on a long ride.
I remember when I used to spend a few hours each week maintaining my bicycle (around when I first met Amanda!). Of course, I did not have a reliable car during those years. I was always amused that my bicycle was worth far more than my car at the time.
