friday: work, yadda yadda. i shortened the workday to clean up the apartment as amanda’s parents were coming to buffalo for a visit. they arrived that evening, and we went to el canelos for dinner with erika. we attempted to watch a bit of kill bill vol. 2, but everyone was tired from dinner and the heat, so most people retired early. i stayed up a bit trying to do a bit of work, but i gave that up and researched content management systems and talked to amanda’s dad. eventually, i went to sleep as well.
saturday: made bfast and considered what to do. we eventually decided to go to the ikea in burlington since amanda’s mom wanted to look for bedding and curtains and the like for her new place in cincinatti and going to canada is always fun. lainie came with us as she realized that she was not going to do any work that day. ikea was mobbed, as always. there were no djungelorms to be found, and i was sad. i suppose they have stopped manufacturing them for a while. amanda’s mom did not find anything she liked, but lainie picked up a few picture frames and pictures to go in them. the pictures were of sytlized animals, most of which mysteriously have horn-like things growing from their heads even though in reality they should not necessarily be there. anyways, later, back at home everyone watched monster while i got some exercise instead. actually, lainie went back home so she did not see the movie either. we did not plan a sumptuous dinner ahead of time at toro or whatnot, so we ended up eating at pizzaria uno with lainie as it would not require reservations and it seemed unlikely to have a long wait. amanda’s parents ended up playing a spiderman-word game on the internet while amanda and i retired for the evening.
sunday: amanda had to work, so we got up early. i ended up going back to sleep for a couple of hours. i had thoughts of having brunch at the art gallery and being educated and learned and all, but since amanda would be getting out at an unknown time, i decided to wait on that since everyone had ended up eating bfast earlier. we were going to wait for amanda to return from work (theorectically around noon), but it started getting really hot, so we decided to continue looking for bedding for amanda’s mom in the air-conditioned galleria. eventually, suitable bedding was found, and amanda eventually got out of work and met us for a late lunch at the mall. amanda passed out when we got home, so amanda’s parents decided to return to ohio since amanda had to work again on monday. we ended up eating dinner outside the lone star fajita grill and having a low-key evening at home. amanda watched select scenes from kill bill vol. 2 while i did something (but obviously not important enuf to remember).
monday: it’s labour day, and i theorectically have the day off, but i am waaay behind schedule at work, so here i am working (or will continue to work once this weblog entry is done). i tried to start working when amanda left, but had to take an extra 45 minutes of napping before hitting the grindstone. amanda is on call today, but she is hopeful that she will get out early and maybe we can enjoy some of the cool sunny weather today. okay, entry is done! i changed my mind and will get some exercise before getting back to work.
