i just bought yet another cheap at&t trimline phone ($9) since we now have a landline in brooktondale. i spent quite a while looking for the three(!) i used to have, but i guess i either dumped them two moves ago or gave them away or somesuch. now that i have bought another one i am sure that i will find them all (plus perhaps others i did not know i had) once i get back to the house.
i had to go the kmart downtown because target and best buy near work apparently to not deign to carry such low end phones. the construction is pretty crazy south of downtown; the lowes, walmart, and bed bath and beyond are well on there way to completion. when they are all done, things will be very built up down there compared to, say, eight years ago.
i personally would be happy about all the construction (at least when it is completed) if i intended to keep living in the area. of course, there are those here who do not agree, but as with most things it is hard to know what the residents think about it. to get stuff unavailable in the area (or if it was undesirable to do so), i used to go to syracuse or mail/internet order them. yes, yes, ultimately a better path would be to consume less.
