so what’s been going on

back in ithaca again. i do not know what happened to the weekend. amanda made it into aoa! she’s the bomb. we went out to toro to celebrate on friday.
saturday karen and carlos made us bfast. afterwards, we took lainie to pick up some posters that would not fit in her car. there were an outrageous amount of people in the area (amanda almost hit a car whose driver was being very foolish), and we later discovered it was because of the elmwood art festival. unfortunately for the festival goers, a mega downpour started and lasted quite a while. too bad for us, too, as i remember the art festival being kinda nice last year. we went to the the galleria for random shopping (as it turned out, many other people had the same idea for the rainy day). karen and carlos met us there, and karen was entranced by the greyhounds that a local rescue organization had there.
on the way back home we picked up some antibiotics for our poor goldfish. he had fought off the fungal infection, but had developed a blood infection.
we were going to met up later with lainie for dinner, but she was beat from being on call the night before and just slept until the next day. we had a nice dinner of salad, bread, cheese, and wine.
something was up with the wine as i was majorly hung over the next day. or maybe i have become a true lightweight. amanda was theoretically on call, but she managed to get out early. i spent the day working, or trying to in the heat and humidity. she and lainie did some more shopping whilst i attempted to work at home. amanda said i still “looked like hell” later in the evening.
our poor goldfish looked like hell in the morning, but a few hours after the next dose of drugs he looked much much better. soon he will be back to his ravenous self.
i did not get much sleep sunday night (couple of hours) as i was trying to work, but it was not really happening so i alternated working with random surfing and game playing. i still got up a 5am with amanda and just went back to the grindstone.
we had a nice dinner of random squash stuffed with barley, cheese, and spinach. actually, amanda made most of the dinner while i provided some of the inspiration for the recipe. i busied myself with cleaning out the refrigerator and other random cleaning duties. amanda also made a tasty peach dessert, which unfortunately i was too full to eat much of.
today was another drive back to ithaca. i brought more stuff back (random stuff from the basement and a big pappasan chair). i hate hate hate hate moving. it seems like most of the last three years i have always been moving or thinking about it.
