friday: kinda blah… work, etc. etc. etc. amanda came back from work and wanted to go to olive garden. i did my duty and reminded her of how much she hated it, but we tried to go anyway. even at barely 5:30, the place was already packed. we went to don pablos instead. our waitress courtney was unusually good natured and helpful (getting us more drinks, chips, salsa, replacement beans for cold beans, not charging us for some stuff) even though she was very very busy. her good-naturedness was tempered by these two women sitting near who kept staring at us (well, me mainly) with what i later told amanda was their “why-can’t-he-keep-his-hands-off-our-womenfolk” stare. while i do not know exactly what was stuck up their asses, the phrase fit their special disgusted/disappoving/contemptuous/evil glares. of course, maybe they just didn’t like my fading hair color.
after dinner, we went over to barnes and noble and evilly read books that we did not plan to pay for. we then went home and watched a bit of “this is spinal tap“; amanda had never seen it.
saturday: amanda had to go into work for half the day, and did not have a very good day. i was feeling kinda blah and did not really get up early as my back was killing me for some reason for most of the day, but cleaned the apartment as amanda recovered. we then met up with lainie, picked up her new exercise bicycle at sears, went to the galleria for idle shopping, and then returned to lainie’s place to put together her new toy. by this time, my back felt much better after taking a “bunch” of naproxen sodium (yum) that we had obtained from target outside the mall. we had dinner at the saigon cafe, since saturday is amanda’s and lainie’s cheat day. amanda is going to go back on the body-for-life eating program because apparently she had been eating a lot of nonhealthy stuff for the past week. regardless, dinner was good (i like the place, but their portions are a bit small), but amanda started feeling ill, so we headed back home. i watched “indiana jones and the temple of doom“, but amanda ended up fallling asleep. i remember seeing it on opening night at lynnhaven mall in virginia beach; i had to sit in the front row.
sunday: overnight, i apparently had a 12 hour flu or something as i had felt horrendous, but by morning it had passed by and i was only left with a slightly altered voice. the weather was incredibly nice, but unfortunately amanda again had to go to work in the afternoon/evening. we did spend some time outside, and the piglet had many outside adventures for the first time this year. after amanda returned at after nine, we watched “temple of doom” again, since amanda missed all of it yesterday.
monday: again, it’s a gorgeous day outside. amanda is at work, and i should continue to work as well. piglet was out for a while, but is now in the apartment sleeping. the holy angel field hocky team was outside, but they mainly seemed to just walk around the block. one would think that they would run at least, but maybe they are working themselves up for it. it suddenly occurs to me that they may be playing soccer or somesuch; since they usually wear skirts it can be hard to tell. i found a small piece of the missing angelfish today whilst changing the water; some evil fish must have stashed it someplace because it was definitely hidden from view. only the large currents from the water change freed it from wherever it was hidden.
