i just read that some goldfish will display spots on their gill plates and pectoral fins that resemble ick, but they just indicate that they are of breeding age. so maybe now that they have the bigger thank, they just want some action.
they did have spots elsewhere, tho, and are still sluggish, so i will blame the ick as opposed to hormonal randiness.
