we just had dinner with karen, carlos, and lainie. carlos made a very good lasagna, whilst we contributed a salad, a dessert (upsidedown apple phyllo dough caramel thing), and a rosemont estates blend… but i forget the actual grape varieties.
there was almost a disaster when we made the caramel sauce. i had not realized that we would be adding sour cream to it, so i thickened it way too much, and when the sour cream was added, the caramel instantly solidified. fortunately, vigorous stirring and more heat resulted in a more homogenous sauce.
i have a splitting headache right now for some reason, so perhaps i should take some drugs. amanda, karen, and lainie are all on call tomorrow (lainie for 30+ hours), so i feel bad that i can sleep all i want. well, i must confess, i don’t really feel all that bad.
