mr. policeman caught me allegedly “running a stop sign” outside of geneva. i was admittedly confused about the whole thing; i had looked up in my rear view mirror and saw the lights, but i thought he just wanted to go around me since he wasn’t blaring his siren or flashing his lights at me. he said i “kinda but didn’t really stop” at the stop sign before turning right onto ny route 14. he asked a lot of questions about what i thought was going on, but i think that wsa just to see if i was drunk or under the influence of some other substance. regardless, he still gave me the ticket.
he was also not pleased that i had two ny state licenses; one was my previous one that had expired. he said he wouldn’t write me up for that, tho.
i don’t remember seeing him, but i imagine that he was at the town/city border waiting to catch people buzzing into the city without slowing down (30mph in the city, whilst 55mph outside).
i guess i’ll see at my court date next week if i get the charge dismissed and/or reduced to a nonmoving violation. i suppose that after driving for 15.5 years and only getting this one ticket isn’t all that bad, even tho in this instance i don’t think i deserved it. i must admit, however, that there have been many times that i did deserve to get nailed. oh, well.
