i drafted vishal to help me move christine’s car from our parking lot. i had hoped that it would be a trivial exercise, but such things never are. we discovered that the battery was toast, so we had to jump start it. older cars tend to be more prone to this; perhaps because there are more little shorts in the wiring as the car ages. unfortunately, something was up with the volvo’s idle, so it tended to stall itself a lot, which let to us jumpstarting again. we did this a lot as we tried to manuever out of the lot. eventually we decided not to take it to work because we didn’t think we could make it without stalling somewhere, and jumpstarting it on the road seemed problematic, so we just moved it down the road from us. it’s not really legal to park overnight, but perhaps christine will be able to move it before the authorities get too upset (she’s coming back into town next week). on the way down giles street, the car stalled multiple times, but we were able to do a running start since we were on a hill.
anyways, the car is now moved, and hopefully all the other residents will get their cars moved so the landlord (whom natalie and i call hhh3 from his email) can resurface the lot.
