apparently, the biggest power outage ever has hit the northeast. 80% of ny state is without power. ithaca is toast, but mysteriously my workplace has power… perhaps because we are right beside the airport. i think buffalo has power as well, as i called our apartment and the answering machine picked up. i think the battery backup just preserves the messages.
unfortunately, i planned to drive back to buffalo tonight, but i don’t have enough gas. i don’t want to risk getting stranded somewhere as there is much to do. none of the gas stations near here are open. this would not be so bad, except that i have to finish my taxes, and i left everything in buffalo. ah, well.
i also have to get a massive amount of stuff done for work that just got dumped on me today. guess i better get cracking.
there are a lot of people here at work making dinner. funny.
