another day here at work, i am doing ramdon things while amanda is studying… heh, like we do anything else.
we were considering going to see lost sailors last night at castaways, but i at least was too sluggish after our long run about cornell, our pasta dinner, and me consuming practically all of a bottle of wine. i ended up doing assorted cleaning and whatnot while amanda continued studying.
we’ve been eating this huge batch of sauce (usually with pasta) that i made earlier last week every day. i guess i will be glad when its finally gone. i was experimenting with the “trinity”… onions, celergy, green pepper… along with carrots and tomatoes that i sauteed with herbs then basically slowed cooked in the over with gobs of extra virgin olive oil. i wanted to crumble tofu in it as well, but amanda was horrified at the prospect. it turned out ok… i did not mince all the ingredients small enough and used too many tomatoes (it turned out to be too tomato based). i think this kind of thing would probably be better if i had been baking chicken or duck or the like (with fat/lard replacing the olive oil), but, of course, i do not eat such things.
it’s very sunny today… how unusual. only a week and a half before amanda takes the boards. then she’ll be free… at least until her rotations start at the beginning of august.
